Mice in a lady

When disassembling my sculpture 'Dame en haar dwerg' in sculpture garden Anningahof in Zwolle www.anningahof.nl last Thursday with Bastiaan de Boer, we discovered that every corner in the interior of the sculpture is used as a store of winter food supply for a mouse family!
The nest itself was at the bottom, half buried, and abandoned.
The sculpture will this week travel to Zutphen (without the mice):

Der bärtige Kaiser ist fertig

Das ist in meinem besten Deutsch...
Or in English, my "Der bärtige Kaizer" Bellarmine/Baardman/Bartmann jug is ready (with gold luster).
This is the final result:

Out of the box

Another nice project I am working on now:
For a company in the city of Delft I am producing 25 small ceramic "dragons boxes".
25 small ceramic boxes, 25 lids, with 25 small dragons, 10 different ornament parts per box, 6 different glazes, silver luster.
And then also in a technique that I have never used, slipcasting.
Lot of work, much fun (at Struktuur 68 ceramic studio in Den Haag).

Watercolour monsters

Nice new project I am working on together with Thai-Australian artist Vipoo Srivilasa and Japanese-Australian artist Shin Koyama, I've met both in China. We are making Exquisite corpse (Cadavre Exquis) watercolour paintings. We send each other the paintings in the mail. Each artists paints the head, legs or head of a monster. These collaborative paintings are going to be exhibited in Bangkok this summer!
The picture shows some of my unfishished monsters ready to be send to the next artist.
More information will follow.

Dragons of Ming

I just finished sculpting on my " De Draken van Ming" "The Dragons of Ming" vase in the new Dragon year. Actually it is not a real vase anymore because you can't put anything in it, but at least it started as one. Since visiting Jingdezhen, China in 2010 I study on the depiction of dragons on especially Ming dynasty porcelain.
Now drying, firing, a LOT of glazing, firing again....
I will post the result on this blog.
