The Blue Revolution
I finished the large warercolour 'Dragon Emperor' mural for the Delft - Jingdezhen: The Blue Revolution exhibition. And the exhibition at De Prinsenhof started last Friday.
Adriaan Rees, me and the people of the museum have been working very hard to get everything finished on time.
We also moved my big vase "Perpetua Porseline" to her new location in the exhibition.
Below some pictures of the exhibition.
Lighting design by Paul van Laak
Sounds by Leo Anemaet
Video works by Henk Augustijn

The 187 inch tall Dragon Emperor
Busy preperations for the exhibition Delft-Jingdezhen: The Blue Revolution, 400 jaar Exchange, which is starting next week. See my previous post: http://cirquedepepin.blogspot.nl/2013/03/delft-jingdezhen-blue-revolution.html
And for this exhibition I am painting on the shalk walls of the very old Prinsenhof museum. This painting must be by far the largest watercolor that I've ever made, it's approximately 475 cm (187 inch) high.
On the first picture I am accompanied by the famous Dutch artists Hugo Kaagman and Tineke van Gils, who are also participating in the exhibition.

Honey, I Shrunk the Vase!
I recently made a mini version, scale 1:20, of my extra large porcelain vase Perpetua Porseline for an exhibition of miniatures of monumental ceramic sculptures in Hungary:
After the vase was damaged in the first firing I restored the vase.
Yesterday it came out of the kiln for the second time and miss Porseline was only left with orange peel skin.
Low fired porcelain, glaze and Cobalt blue Maiolica, height 16,4 cm.

Delft-Jingdezhen: The Blue Revolution
I work on the sketches for the interior design and graphic design for the upcoming exhibition 'Delft-Jingdezhen: The Blue Revolution, 400 jaar Exchange' in Museum The Prinsenhof in Delft.
Open from: Saturday, April 20 till Sunday Juni 9, 2013
The exhibition will show the artworks (in blue and white porcelain and ceramics) of the artists who participated in the exchange project, as well as antique porcelain and ceramic Delftware objects.
It is going to be an interesting experience, with wooden walkways, murals and a lot of Porcelain and ceramics!
The best part of this exhibition is the large mural that I am going to make in collaboration with artist Hugo Kaagman amongst others.
Participating artists:
Jiansheng Li, Wan LiYa, Zhang Ling Yun, Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk, Tineke van Gils, Pauline Wiertz, Hugo Kaagman,Chris Dagradi, Adrie Huisman, Wendy Steenks en Adriaan Rees.
More information on the exhibition is not yet available in English, but coming soon, overhere:
http://www.ikhouvanblauw.nl/nl/tentoonstelling/the-blue-revolution
About the exchange project:
From 2006 on there has been a frequent contact between de ceramic cities of Jingdezhen and Delft. The international working artist Adriaan van Rees is also working for many years in China in his own studio in Jingdezhen. For the Heritage Department and the city of Delft he is the main project leader for the '400 year Exchange Delft – Jingdezhen' project. This project includes cultural cooperation as well as educational and industrial exchange. In October 2010 the mayors of the cities of Jingdezhen and Delft signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ for future cooperation.
The municipality of Delft, the Heritage Department of Delft, Royal Delft, the municipality and museums of Jingdezhen and Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute are working at the exchange on several areas. As a part of this the project 'Artist-in-Residence' promotes the exchange of artist between both cities.
