The exhibition The Blue Revolution, which was held in Delft the Netherlands, and in Jingdezhen China last year until early this year, will travel further into China.
Now the exhibition travels to the city Dongguan.
I am working on the design for this exhibition.
More details will follow later.

City of clay
I am working on a large scale model of the city of Delft, based on the 1649 map made by Dutch cartographer Joan Blaeu, for Museum Het Prinsenhof in Delft.
The ca. 3 x 2 meter scale model is made in ceramics covered with a layer of Engobe, to give it a unfired clay-feel.
The idea of Delft as a city of clay is based on the fact that Delft in the early 17th century was becoming a city of potters who were starting to develop Delftware inspired by Chinese blue and white porcelain.
The scale model will be presented in the museum within a few months. At this moment Museum Het Prinsenhof is totally renewing its semi-permanent exhibitions.

A Dutch settlement in Bangkok
DUTCH SETTLEMENT
debut solo exhibition in Bangkok
by
Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk
Today until Feb. 13, 2014
‘Dutch Settlement’ exhibition showcases a series of gouache on paper inspired by the historic event in the 17th Century when Dutch people emigrated from the Netherlands to Asia, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and all around the world since then. After World War II, the first large group of Dutch immigrants settled in Canada and the United States. Most of them were farmers and hardworking Christians. They were living their typical Dutch lives which they lived for centuries in the Dutch countryside. They took the typical Dutch habits, morals and standards with them to Canada and the United States. Although they lived aboard, they kept holding on to their traditions very tightly. Visually inspired by Blue and White Delftware ceramics, Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk shows cliché depiction of old fashioned Dutch immigrants in a tragically humorous way with a surrealistic touch. His works portray Dutch nostalgia shown through traditional decorative elements.
“I gave them a bit of 1900's atmosphere because in that period there was a revival of traditional Dutch culture costume especially in advertising that had much influence on how tourists visiting the Netherlands saw Dutch life in Dutch tourist villages like Volendam,” said Pepijn van den Nieuwendijk.

On behalf of Mr. Darwin
I present a few details of some new paintings that I'm working on.
The paintings feature a Mammoth, a ghostly snowman, and Mr. Darwin (who is quite upset).
More information and pictures will be posted soon.

The Dragon Emperor and a Fuping bird
Some recent ceramic sculptures.
I finished the Dragon Emperor sculpture already a few months ago.
The Fuping bird is a new work in progress.
I already made four Fuping birds the last few years, but this one has a different
pattern than the previous four, sample overhere.
The other Fuping birds are sitting on a stone, while this one is sitting on a nest.

Kamasutra rabbits
Difficult to translate in English, 'Het dufste uit Duf': 'The most fusty of Fusty'? Duf (Fusty) is a Dutch pricewinning bookazine for teenage kids. Colourfull, funny and full of interesting subjects. I had the opportunity to participate in this bookazine with illustrations. I made the first 3 illustration spreads in 2006, for the articles 'Handjes booven de deekens' (Hands above the blanket), a glance on masturbation in the 19th century, and for an article about the Kamasutra (rabbits).
Now the Kamasutra rabbits are republished in the overview edition 'Het dufste uit Duf'.
The Dutch Museum of the Image, MOTI has now an interactive exhibition on modern visual culture in collaboration with Duf.
