Kaptein Evols adventures

Already quite a few years ago I made a painting called Lullaby. The character depicted in this painting 'Kaptein Evol' (Captain Evol, no this is not a spelling error) has appeared in several of my paintings.
This time Kaptain Evol ends up in a new cute fairy tale (made of canvas and oil paint).

The painting is commissioned by the director and curator of the legendary Museum of Weird Art (MOWA), Mr. Mx.
The photographs below show the work in progress.

Blik op de Lik

A glance at the prison.
For over a decade I make illustrations for the internal magazine of the Dutch Service penitentiaries (DJI) from the Ministry of Justice called 'Balans.
An Exhibition with more than 50 illustrations I did for the magazine will start March 15, 2013 at the beautiful prison museum Veenhuizen (Het gevangenis museum).
More information will follow soon.

And a tiny Ming vase

This is my new ceramic sculpture in the Dragons of Ming series.
It came out of the kiln earlier this week.
The sculpture is on display right now, together with The Dragons of Ming vase and my series of small dragons (both see previous posts), at Heden, art gallery and art library, The Hague (Den Haag).

Bigger pictures (and even more details):

For visitors, Heden is located in a very beautiful part of the old city centre of The Hague (the street is called Denneweg), nearby the Dutch houses of parliament (Binnenhof) and the Mauritshuis (The Royal Picture Gallery).
